Organization Settings
Configure profiles, email signatures, roles, teams, and integrations
Use Organization Settings (the Account Settings modal) to keep your profile accurate, control who can access what, and make sure outbound emails and integrations work the way your team expects.
Before you start
- You must be signed in to MVMNT.
- To edit another user's settings, you need the Admin role.
- To use DAT or MCP fields, your organization must have those integrations enabled (DAT also requires org-level DAT credentials first).
- If your email shows "not verified" for sending, an admin may need to configure DNS in Branding Settings.
How to open Organization Settings
- Click your user menu (top-right corner of any page).
- Select Account Settings.
Expected result: The Account Settings modal opens with your profile fields, email signature, and integration credentials.
Update your personal information (your profile)
- Open Account Settings.
- Update your Name, Phone, and Extension.
- To change your Avatar, upload a new image when prompted (this is only available for your own profile).
- Click Save.
| Field | What it affects | Who can edit |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Your display name across shipments, assignments, and user lists | You, Admin |
| Avatar | Your profile image in tables and assignments | You (only) |
| Email address | Your login and sending identity | Read-only after creation |
| Phone | Your contact number for internal and customer-facing workflows | You, Admin |
| Extension | Your phone extension | You, Admin |
Note: Phone numbers are auto-formatted to US format, such as (555) 123-4567.
Set up your email signature
Your signature is appended to platform-sent emails that support signatures.
- Open Account Settings.
- In Email Signature, enter your signature content.
- Use the editor toolbar for formatting (bold, italic, underline, alignment, lists, block quotes, links, images, strikethrough).
- Click Save.
Check your email verification status
- Verified (green check): You are ready to send.
- Not verified (orange warning): Click the indicator to resend verification, or ask an admin to complete DNS setup in Settings > Branding.
Change your password
- Open Account Settings for your own profile.
- Click Change Password (key icon).
- Enter your current password and new password, then confirm.
- Save your changes.
Note: The Change Password option only appears when you are editing your own profile.
Add or update integration credentials (DAT, MCP)
DAT user email
- Open Account Settings.
- Enter your DAT User Email (the username tied to your DAT account).
- Confirm the status indicator:
- Connected (green): Username verified.
- Invalid username (red): DAT could not verify the username.
- Click Save.
Tip: DAT validation happens in real time, so you can correct the username immediately if it fails.
MCP username (MyCarrierPackets)
- Open Account Settings.
- If MCP is enabled for your organization, enter your MCP Username.
- Click Save.
Admin: manage another user's settings
Admins can adjust access, visibility, and commission settings for other brokerage users.
- Go to Settings > Users.
- Open the user you want to edit.
- Update the settings described below.
- Click Save.
Role management (Admin only)
| Role | What it allows |
|---|---|
| Admin | Full platform access and brokerage settings |
| Manager | Full access within assigned team(s); can manage and invite team members |
| Customer Rep | Customer work; shipments; carrier info read-only |
| Carrier Rep | Carrier work; booking; customer info read-only |
| Accounting | Invoicing and payments; customer and carrier info read-only |
| Compliance | Limited to managing customer or carrier profiles |
- Selecting Admin automatically grants all other roles.
- Selecting Manager automatically grants Customer Rep, Carrier Rep, Accounting, and Compliance.
Team assignments (Admin only)
- Assign users to one or more teams to support customer ownership, workload distribution, and team-based commission inheritance.
- Managers typically see data scoped to their assigned team(s).
Visibility settings (Admin only)
Visibility controls what shipments and customers a user can access. This is typically available for non-Admin and non-Manager roles.
| Setting | What the user can see | When to use |
|---|---|---|
| Inherit | Based on role and organization defaults | Most teams that follow a standard access policy |
| Limited | Only shipments and customers where the user is tagged | Reps who should only work their assigned accounts |
| All | All shipments and customers | Users who support across accounts and teams |
Commission settings (Admin only)
Commission settings only appear when commission tracking is enabled for your organization.
- Toggle Enable Commission on or off for the user.
- Review the plan assignment:
- Inherited plan: Comes from team membership (read-only).
- Custom plan: User-specific plan with custom rates.
- No plan: Create a custom plan if needed.
- If the user inherits a plan but needs exceptions, set an Override Commission plan.
Report export permissions (Admin only)
- Enable Allow Export to let the user export reports.
- Keep this off for users who should not extract large datasets.
Portal user limitations
Users in shipper or carrier portals see a reduced version of the modal. These fields are available:
- Name
- Avatar
- Email address
- Phone number
- Extension
Roles, teams, visibility, commission, export permissions, and integration credentials are hidden for portal users.
Common issues
I can't change my email address.
Solution: Email is read-only after user creation. If the email is wrong, an admin should create a new user with the correct email.
"Change Password" is missing.
Solution: This option only appears when you are editing your own profile.
DAT shows "Invalid username".
Solution: Confirm your DAT user email is correct. If it still fails, verify your organization has DAT configured at the org level.
Email shows "Not verified".
Solution: Click the warning indicator to resend verification. If it remains unverified, ask an admin to complete DNS verification in Settings > Branding.
I don't see Roles, Teams, Visibility, Commission, or Export settings.
Solution: Those controls require the Admin role, or you are editing a portal user (which hides admin-only fields).
